FullCircles Theme Song... Joni Mitchell's "CIRCLE GAME"
THE CIRCLE GAME - The FullCircles Theme Song

Joni Mitchell, Canadian folksinger from Saskatoon, wrote this classic in the '60's... I've always been a HUGE Joni Mitchell fan. We've adopted this beautiful song as the FullCircles theme song.

The Story of "Stuff"

From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

About FullCirclesOttawa

An Ottawa Canada Freecycling Group

Our goals:

  • Reduce waste
  • Conserve resources
  • Move our community toward sustainability

In our throw-away, consumer society, Full Circles gives new life to idle, unwanted items... things that are frequently out of sight... hidden... cluttering closets, basements, garages... clogging our living spaces. Or things that end up at the curb and in landfills prematurely. Full Circles helps you move those useful things to people who want them and will actually use them.

The benefits are obvious and immediate... uncluttered, simplified households; reduced waste; reduced spending; conservation of energy and natural resources.

By activating idle items, FullCirclers optimize the use of surplus "stuff" already in our community's inventory, reduce the need for members to buy already available "stuff" with after tax $$, and reduce unnecessary use of natural resources and energy required to manufacture additional goods.

Give it away on FULL CIRCLES -- everything 100% Free!

[FCO] Ottawa Z-Day - 03/13/10 12:00 PM - 17 minutes ago, 0 comments
Sat, 3/13/10, 12:00 PM-4:00 PM - http://www.zeitgeistottawa.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=49&Itemid=55 Zeitgeist Ottawa Chapter members will be holding a street event to inform the public. This will include handing out physical media to passerbys such as DVD's, pamphlets, stickers and so on. This is the first official Z-Day in Ottawa, and the chapter has existed since August/September 2009, and has grown by at least 100 members since, so this will be a great way to officially kick off our first official full year of productivity. The event will involve spreading members out throughout the downtown core (and feel free to chose your campus the friday before, if you have a cell of people willing to help) to hand out the media, even with a small amount of people on the street, we should be able to inform alot of people, help them find the right direction. This year will not include a lecture event (unless otherwise mentioned). The reasoning is due to the smaller numbers we currently have, and so far concensus has been reached that this won't attract new members- this move would end up being more for current members, which is why meetings will be held. ===================== Eric Snyder Twitter.FullCircles.org Ottawa.FullCircles.ca =====================
One of my students needs a sturdy stroller that reclines (so her little girl can sleep lying down). Hers broke, so I told her I would look here first before she tries to buy one second-hand. (Note: the umbrella kind is not what she's looking for.) Thanks for considering her request. Sharon
Hi folks, I've begun training for my first triathlon in September. (so what i can only run 3 minutes... two weeks ago i could only run 90 seconds) So... The second leg of the race (against myself) is a 10km bike. For that, I guess I'll need a bike. If you have one you don't use anymore or have moved on to a newer, spiffier model please consider giving it new life. I've begun swimming and running (okay, jogging) and now need a bike. i'm 5' 4". Thank you very much for your consideration. Bonnie

This very same home has now put out numerous cupboards complete with fancy doors and they look in great shape. Definitely worth checking out. Jocelyne Neat little vanity complete with sink. Looks about 30 inches wide. Sink is white and is the full width of the vanity. No taps. Base is light brown, 2 doors. This would be great if you are adding a powder room or upgrading the cottage bathroom or ????? It is sitting at the curb on Beaufort Drive, house at the corner of Beaufort and Chimo. It would be a shame to see this one go to the landfill. Garbage day is next Wednesday
There is a box of dishes and glasses, and end table and coffee table Cherrywood colour, microwave, wooden table. pls come within the next hour or will be brought to trash.

March 3: Today is... Hinamatsuri - Japanese Doll Festival. We're encouraging FCO members to collaborate with their children to offer up no longer treasured dolls! If this "challenge" is successful we'll mark our calendars and make it an annual event.

Eric's Eclectic Book Shoppe
After listening to author, Malcolm Gladwell interviewed on CBC Radio1 by Anna Maria Tremonti this morning, I added his latest book, "What the Dog Saw & Other Adventures" to my little Eclectic Book Shoppe.

Lots of interesting "stuff" in the Book Shoppe.  Give it a look!
